Marcos - Broken Society

Three months after the long awaited remix package of his trance classic Cosmic String, Englishman Mark Dearden – aka Marcos – now comes up with a brand new EP. Marcos was already famous for his production skills and his ability to deliver strong trance tracks. This release on Yakuza certainly lives up to his reputation. Containing the original mix and a tougher rework by himself, this release is limited only in quantity, but certainly not in quality. Both versions feature all the right ingredients to enter the playlist of the big dj’s during the upcoming summer: strong hooks, powerful leads, emotive strings, rattling percussion – It’s all there. Marcos has done it again!

Clearwater Music announcement

I am very happy to announce that I have accepted the position of label manager at the brand new label Clearwater Music. I am currently looking for unsigned tracks in the genres of Trance, Progressive, Commercial/Vocal, Electro and Tech/Tech House. All demos will be listened to and should be sent to mark@marcosdj.com I am also looking for remixers for up coming projects, so again, please contact me at the above address.

The label is split into 3 sub-labels - Clearwater Red (Trance/Prog), Blue (Commercial/Vocal) and Black (Tech/Electro). The first releases is scheduled for promo next month so keep an eye out for the following tracks

I have been busy in the studio remixing this month. I have Just finished a remix for the Shy Bros. on a track called Mystery, due out very soon, and a remix for up and coming producer Simon Pitt on an as yet un-named project. Keep an eye out on the music page for clips of these soon.

Eastern Star - All That I Am OUT NOW

'All That I Am' written under my Eastern Star alias is out now on Drizzly Records. The vocals are written by my gorgeous and talented girlfriend Helen Sylk, and performed beautifully by Emi Jarvi who also sang on Cosmicstring 2009. Listen to the clip on the Music page now.

The Marcos Selection on 1Mix

I am very pleased to announce that my radio show 'The Marcos Selection' has today joined 1Mix Radio. As well as being able to still tune into the usual slot on Dance Radio Global, you can now also catch the show on every 3rd Tuesday morning of the month at 10am GMT on www.1mix.co.uk

Pro-Test Album Update

As some of you may or may not know, over the last 12 months or so I have been working on an artist album along with Vinsenti and Sarah Jane Scott (of Divine Inspiration) under the name of Pro-Test. The album entitled 'One Smal Step' is our first as a group, and is due for release at the end of this summer. Forthcoming from the album are single releases 'Stereo Juice' and title track 'One Small Step' which have already gained very early support from John O'Callaghan and Vicky Devine among others.

Vicky is going to be joining us in the studio at the end of this month to co-produce a track for the album, and she will also be guest mixing CD2. Previews will be available soon in the music section.

Radio Show

Tune into The Marcos Selection every 3rd Sunday of the month at 2300 GMT on www.danceradioglobal.com/trance for a 2 hour mix of all the best tunes in my bag. This is the first place you will hear my latest tracks, and if you miss it you can find a link to download the show on the Radio page of this site.

Chart Update

Thanks to everyone who has been supporting Steve Knoxx - All Sound Ad Fury (Marcos Remix) - Lange Recs and Louk vs Stew Ewans - Bad Habit (Marcos Remix) - Joyride Recs. Both tracks have been a phenominal success, with both charting in the TrackItDown.net top 10 at the same time. The former reached number 3 whilst the latter made it to number 7.

Marcos - Cosmicstring 2009 - Combined Forces/Cloud 9 Dance has also been a brilliant success having been playlisted by just about everyone DJ wise and licensed to many compilations. I would like to thank the remixers Rob (Activa), Alex (Indecent Noise), Raphael (Rapha), Bryan (Helion Tide), Steve Knoxx (DJ NuSense) and everyone at Cloud 9 Dance for there brilliant work on the release, and to everyone who has supported the record by buying and playing it.
